Review of the 1986 TV Series A VERY PECULIAR PRACTICE – Series One added (Linked). Starring Peter Davison, David Troughton, Barbara Flynn, Graham Crowden. It was voted 5th Best TV Comedy in a Guardian survey. I’d say it’s the best campus series AND the best medical practice comedy series. I’ve used it to rant a bit about General Practice in the UK and indeed universities. BUT I haven’t described the plot lines or given away the jokes.

Graham Crowther: shouldn’t it be Graham Crowden?
Esther Hausammann, Switzerland, 1971 student at ACSE Bournemouth. Your lectures in the language lab were much to my liking, especially the Beatles songs; anway, admired all the teachers and their lectures and very much the plays you and your mates performed on Friday nights.

Quite right. I corrected it- in fact I had a couple spelled each way in the article. I’m going to try and blame the spell-checker as Crowther is a more common name than Crowden BUT it was probably me. Anglo 71? Were you in one of my classes? We also did language lab in the evenings. The plays were Wednesday … Scottish Dancing on Friday!
