I really enjoyed the review of Judy Collins. It’s a beautiful piece of writing about a great singer whose greatest hits I recently bought. I should have appreciated her great ability earlier, but perhaps because of her ability to sing in all genres, I shied away from her. I really like her version of ‘Who Knows Where The Time Goes’. The review conveys the uniqueness of her voice in a subtle, gentle manner. I really enjoyed the Susan Boyle anecdote. Thanks, Peter.

Peter, It’s Bob F from the Band Guestbook. I was hoping you could listen to my daughter RoseAnn’s music and give me your thoughts. I could send you her cd on Woodstock Records if you sent me your address. Thanks.

Peter Viney, in an essay posted in 1998, you attribute the song Streets Of Laredo to Danny Dill. I think you’ll find that song was around many years before Dill was born.

Thanks, you’re right. I also knew that it dates back to the early 20th century at least, and was noted then. Danny Dill had a “Trad. Arranged by …) on his version, which is a bit like Alan Price saying he wrote House of The Rising Sun. Where did I write that? On this site a search only brought up his name under The Long Black Veil section on the Music From Big Pink 50th Anniversary edition, and it’s not there. I’d correct it if I could, but if it was on The Band website, that’s “frozen” or locked in time, and I can’t amend it.
