Review of A Midsummer Night’s Dream: A Play For The Nation. (SEE LINK) This superb production starts its tour of the country in Stratford, and will use different amateur actors as the “rude mechanicals” in each city for the play within a play, 84 in total, and 580 schoolchildren. A five star review.

Just read your review of Midsummer Night’s Dream. Glad you enjoyed it so much. I was at the same performance as you so fantastic to have such a great reminder of a wonderful show. Actually, I’m one of the amateurs working on the project (London’s Bottom) so if you’d like to find out more about how the whole production worked then take at look at the blog I’ve been writing about it https://bottomdream16.wordpress.com/

I enjoyed that John, and it was good to find the link to Peter Brooks’ production – it had fewer pictures last time I found it. There are several Dream reviews here. I think Christopher Logan deserves praise as Bottom / Pyramus (Headlong) then as Thisbe (Globe). I did see the Peter Brooks, and also the John Caird with David Troughton as Bottom and Richard McCabe as Puck. Neither reviewed here unfortunately!
