Review of Christopher Nolan’s Dunkirk. (LINKED) A masterpiece, to me. With Mark Rylance, Kenneth Branagh, Tom Hardy, Fionn Whitehead. Read the review … a lot on the history too.

Review of The Entertainer, by John Osborne. (FOLLOW LINK) The last play in the Kenneth Branagh Company season, starring Kenneth Branagh as music hall comedian Archie Rice, a part often considered Sir Laurence Olivier’s greatest role. So how did he do? Five stars for us.

Review added of ROMEO & JULIET in the Kenneth Branagh Season, (LINKED)directed by Kenneth Branagh. With Richard Madden as Romeo, Lily James as Juliet, Meera Syal as The Nurse and (incredibly) Derek Jacobi as Mercutio. A production that defines a 5 star play for us, though the critics differ. Pictures now added.

Review of the Kenneth Branagh Company’s third production, The Painkiller (LINKED), a full-on French farce with Kenneth Branagh as a hit man and Rob Brydon as the suicidal Welsh photographer in the next hotel room, it may not sound funny, but it is hilarious and the support cast is first-rate too.

Review of Shakespeare’s The Winter’s Tale by The Kenneth Branagh Company,(FOLLOW LINK HERE) featuring Kenneth Branagh and Judi Dench. This review has been held back until after press night (November 7th), even though it’s entirely positive. We could only get tickets early in the run, they were full price and not marked “preview.” Directed by Kenneth Branagh. This is one of the major Shakespeare productions of 2015, playing in repertory with Harlequinade. I hate posting multiple reviews on one day, because earlier ones get far fewer “hits” … so do see Congreve’s LOVE FOR LOVE by the RSC below too!
