An interesting modern take, focussing on religion rather than race at the start. Best Desdemona / Emilia scene I’ve ever seen too. Picture is Othello and Iago.

The Coen Brothers latest, The Ballad of Buster Scruggs (FOLLOW LINK) only had a week in a few cinemas, before opening on Netflix this weekend, which is how we saw it. Six Western stories presented in sequence. One not to miss.

Review of The Watsons, by Laura Wade, (FOLLOW LINK) adapted from Jane Austen’s unfinished novel. Five stars from Michael Billington – Laura Wade doesn’t finish the story so much as upend it and create a new and hilarious and ever wilder fiction. You have to read more detail. Chichester Festival Theatre.
