Review of Hedda Tesman by Cordelia Lynn, (FOLLOW LINK)a modern rewrite of Henrik Ibsen’s Hedda Gabler. At Chichester’s Minerva theatre with a superb cast. For us, the updating to modern times worked well.

Review of Boudica by Tristan Bernays at The Globe Theatre. This is what The Globe does so well. Full of action and interaction. A lively production of the story of the British queen who fought the Roman invaders. Full of implications, too.

Review of the RSC production of Cymbeline, directed by Melly Still. An all-out production on set, costumes, direction, acting. A great version of this slightly obscure Shakespeare play, set in a dystopian future Britain after Brexit. And Rome (or the EU) seek tributes.A lot of gender switches too.

Review of the Royal Shakespeare Company 2016 production of Hamlet added (LINKED). A virtually all-black version set in West Africa, starring Paapa Essiedu as Hamlet, a stunning 25 year old Hamlet at that.
