We are at the start of Classic Spring Theatre’s London year of Oscar Wilde, produced (and here directed) by Dominic Dromgoole. The first play is A Woman of No Importance, starring Eve Best, Anne Reid and Dominic Rowan. A fabulous cast, great sets and costumes. The first of four Wilde comedies.

The Globe’s latest version of Macbeth – Globe 2016, with Ray Fearon as Macbeth and Tara Fitzgerald as Lady Macbeth, has divided critics, with reviews ranging from one star to five star. Iqbal Khan’s version has stirred things up. Follow the link to see what I thought.

Review of The Winter’s Tale at the Sam Wanamaker Playhouse added. It was fascinating how removing extraneous concepts and reverting to a dark, candlelit Jacobean theatre made fresh sense of the play.
