Three films in a week? Well, it’s a cold damp January, there’s nothing on TV (except Wolf Hall) and the cinema is full of great stuff at the moment. Every trailer makes us whisper, ‘Must see that.’ So on to Ex-Machina (linked) directed and scripted by Alex Garland. Novelist turns screenwriter turns director. Go for it!
