For years people mention the same Streamline English units …
We have often thought of redoing them, using retro pictures or AI. We have done one.

FOLLOW THIS LINK TO: STREAMLINE REVISITED …

From there you will find information, and a link to the reimagined unit, in the version we finished and planned in 2005 which was never published. This one was variously called I Want You, Fiona or I Love You, Fiona or Love Isn’t Everything in different editions.

At AROUND & AROUND: CBS / Columbia – Bruce Springsteen (follow the link)
The Springsteen section grew too long for the CBS / Columbia post 1973 article, so it has its own article.

Yesterday’s shameful events inspired an article on suits and ties. See link here. Have a look, it’s something of a photo essay on what’s ‘respectful’ and what’s not too.

The other current Shakespeare: Review added of the Jamie Lloyd Company in MUCH ADO ABOUT NOTHING (follow link to the review). It stars Tom Hiddleston as Benedick and Hayley Atwell as Beatrice, literally both a “Marvel” to behold. It’s high energy, reduced cast in an Ibiza dance setting. It has more five star reviews than is normal. Rightly so, a joyous event … IF you can get tickets. Hopefully they’ll film it.

Review of RICHARD II at The Bridge Theatre, London (follow link). This stars Jonathan Bailey as the king. Newcomer Royce Pierrson is outstanding as Henry Bolingbroke, then we have the experience of actors Michael Simkins, Nick Sampson and Amanda Root. See the review. This is Henry Bolingbroke returning from banishment.

Indulge me if you are a musician, author or illustrator. Go to this page, THE POTATO ALBUM (CLICK HERE) where you will find three songs. Please listen to them, do not comment but click on the link to read the explanation. Then please add comments on that page. Trust me. This isn’t a scam. I think it important that all creative artists listen.

Review of Mike Bartlett’s new play, UNICORN at the Garrick Theatre in London (follow this link to review). It’s all about the famous cast, Nicola Walker, Stephen Mangan and Erin Doherty. Just three, and the play is about a threesome. A married couple invite a younger woman to be part of three person unit. Given that, there’s lots of talking, no disrobing.

This is a ‘streamed to cinemas’ review of MACBETH at the Donmar Warehouse (follow link to review). It will go on to streamed TV, so will be watchable. This is the one with David Tennant as Macbeth and Cush Jumbo as Lady Macbeth. It’s a powerful and intense production, and itwould have cost you both arms and a leg to see the stage production.

Ward Thomas

A review added of WARD THOMAS at Poole Lighthouse. (follow link) It’s the second time we’ve seen these twins, and this is billed as an acoustic and intimate tour. It was. Definitely one to catch. See the review.

A Rant. THE DECLINE & FALL OF THE PUBLISHING LUNCH. Follow the link. A quirky piece moaning about how ELT publishing changed for authors in a minor way. I’ll reserve the major ways for another story.
