Martin-Freeman-in-The-Hobbit-An-Unexpected-Journey-585x252

Review of An Unexpected Journey added. Not long, and I meant to avoid blockbusters.

Review of the first play in the Michael Grandage Company season, Privates on Parade, with Simon Russell Beale as Captain Terry Ellis.

The Spire

Review of Salisbury Playhouse’s production of The Spire (CLICK HERE) added.

Review of the Globe production of Richard III at the Apollo Theatre, starring Mark Rylance has been added.

You might think most of my reviews are too euphoric. OK, check out Calixto Bieito’s “Forests” perhaps the most pretentious piece of pure garbage I’ve seen since the 1970s.

Cartoon

New cartoon from a 1955 Punch magazine added to the “Stage” contents page.

Review added of the Globe production of Twelfth Night, now transferred to the Apollo Theatre, and featuring Mark Rylance as Olivia and Stephen Fry as Malvolio. A flawless production.

ParaNorman

Review of the animation ParaNorman added. A kids film that adults will love.
