The Magistrate – NT Live

The Magistrate at the Olivier

I wasn’t sure how to classify the NT Live transmission of The Magistrate to 600 cinemas direct from the Olivier Theatre in London. It is under “stage” in the end. We saw it in Poole, and the linked review discusses the nature of “live transmission theatre” as well as the play.

Quatermaine’s Terms

Review of one of the best plays of the 20th century, Quatermaine’s Terms, by Simon Gray,with Rowan Atkinson in the lead role at the preview run, Brighton Theatre Royal.

Not only is this a great play, it’s also a great EFL / ELT play, taking place in the staffroom of an EFL school in Cambridge in the early 1960s.
